Control your music using gestures with Toones for iPhone

Toones accesses your music library and provides a number of simple gestures for easy listening.

Looking for an easier way to control the music on your iPhone? If you like gestures, you'll loveToones, though there is a small catch. And that small catch is the app is free and ad-free, but two key features -- search and shuffle -- cost 99 cents to enable.

After you launch the app for the first time, you'll notice that it has accessed your music library. When you tap to play a song, album art fills the screen. Notice the lack of buttons or any sort of control. Hidden beneath the album art are different zones that let you control the action with various swipes and taps.
  • To play/pause, tap anywhere on the display.
  • To go to the previous or next track, tap on the left or right side, respectively. Similarly, tap-and-hold on the left or right to rewind or fast-forward through a track.
  • Tap-and-hold near the top of the screen to increase volume. Tap-and-hold near the bottom to turn it down.
• Tap with three fingers to display sharing options.
  • Tap with two fingers to toggle shuffle on and off (should you upgrade).
  • Lastly, to hide the album art and view your library, swipe down. Four buttons along the top let you browse your music by song, album, artist, or playlist. You'll need to use the default iOS Music app, however, to create or edit playlists.

That's it for Toones and its gestures. Not too many to confuse you, and just enough to make it a useful app for those with an affinity toward gestures.
