How to Make Fairies in a Jar

Make Fairies in a Jar

This delightful craft can be used as a decoration for a fairy party or any other event where a few fairies (or fireflies or magic dust) can add a little cheer. This craft is inexpensive and easy to make.

EditSteps

  1. 1
    Gather the things you'll need.

  2. 2
Cut one end of a glowstick over the jar.

  3. 3
Shake the contents of the glowstick into the jar.

  4. 4
    Sprinkle in some glitter.

  5. 5
    Screw the lid back on.

  6. 6
Make the fairies appear by shaking the jar.

  7. 7
The fairy effect lasts for as long as the glowstick would normally last. This should be at least a few hours.

    • Have children shake the jars whenever they want the best effect.

EditTips

  • Glitter can be optional; the glowstick is sufficient by itself.

EditWarnings

  • Glowsticks can stain if the contents spill on anything.
  • Please note that as the food does not adhere to this content. There are toxic. Please wash hands well.

EditThings You'll Need

  • Clean dry jar with a lid, such as a Mason jar
  • Glowstick (these are available from dollar stores, party stores, etc.); choose non-toxic ones
  • Glitter (large or small, in colors of choice); the more it sparkles and catches the light, the better
