If you’re a gadget fanatic, then chances are you’ll already be wanting 2012 to be quickly over and done with. Why? Well, because, a brand new year means brand new gadgets!
But, with tons of speculation of what’s going to be released and when, you just can’t wait until the real things actually get released.
So, if you’re itching to find out more about, then here’s a summary of some exciting and new technologies and gadgets, that are set to be huge for 2013:
Pebble Watch ($150)
Now, this really is set to be a hugely popular gadget for the New Year, so if you’re looking to get your hand on a totally different gadget, then this watch is a definite must-buy.
The Pebble Watch, currently being advertised as the ‘e-paper watch for iPhone and Android’, is a new and upcoming smartwatch with a purpose to make your iPhone or Android more accessible through its useful internet-connected apps. So, whether you’re walking down the street, out cycling or out running and you don’t have easy access to your smartphone, your Pebble will display any notifications of incoming calls, emails and messages right on your wrist. Sounds cool, right?
With a plethora of apps available from download, you can do everything from monitor your cycling, control your music, track your running, find your range on the golf course, and of course, tell the time, from your Pebble. It’s expected for release between January and Match, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for it!
Google Project Glass ($1,500)
Now, this is one gadget I personally am extremely excited for. And, with an expected price tag of $1,500, I’m sure it’ll be more than worth the wait for those that can afford it.
Google’s Project Glass is search engine giant’s attempt to quite literally wear a computer, through the help of some ingeniously designed glasses. The glasses feature an integrated heads-up display that displays everything the Internet has to offer right in front of your eyeballs. Rather than using a handheld mouse to search through the internet as you would do on a desktop computer, the glasses work by allowing you to scroll and click on information simply by tilting your head, as well as through the use of voice input and output.
So, you can buy the latest fashions, book weekends away and even access sites such as www.transducertechniques.com, at the blink of an eye!
Oculus Rift ($300)
If you’re a gaming fan, then it’s likely you’ve thought about how amazing it would be if you could instantly step into the world of the game your playing – I for one have always been a Super Mario fan, so the thought of hanging out with Mario and Yoshi would be pretty cool.
And, now with the introduction of the Oculus Rift, you’ll be able to do just that.
The headset gadget will be able to fully present your gaming environment in 3D, as well as display a full 110° view that even tracks your head movements, so you can quite literally step into the virtual worlds. It’s a gadget set to be huge for 2013, and with the introductory price set to be no more than $300, it’ll be perfect for turning your gaming dreams into reality. Expected release date: End of 2013.
